Taking time off is something I’ve found really helpful for catching up on leisure activities like reading. As usual, though, I’m not totally happy with how I’ve been using my time! It always starts with one thing—in my case, getting an iPad. At first, I thought it’d be perfect: I could carry all my books with me wherever I go. But then the App Store pulls me in, tempting me to explore everything—games, photoshopping apps, turning my pictures into cool shots. And don’t get me started on the internet! I end up distracted by the latest fashion trends, celebrity styles, and what my favorite celebs are up to. So, lately, reading books has slipped to the back burner.
Now, I’m making a commitment to get back to it. I’m currently hooked on a romantic novel by bestselling author Nora Roberts—yes, I’m a total softie for romance books! I just love her writing style. It’s so romantic, but she adds her own mix of humor and mystery that keeps me turning the pages. I’m determined to stick with this one and not let the iPad sidetrack me again.
On another note, I’ve been packing up to head to Germany. I’ll still be blogging from there. How could I stay away from my lovely readers? I’ve got a guest post lined up to feature too, so keep an eye out for that! I’ll also share pictures from this trip as soon as I can—I’m excited to let you all in on the adventure. Naturally, I’ve been thinking about my fashion essentials for the trip. It’s minus 10 degrees there right now, so my heels are strictly for indoor parties (I’ve gotten used to the cold by now). I’m bringing party dresses, my must-have coat to survive the weather—it’s that H&M jacket I wrote about a while back—and, of course, my iPad and phone, because I can’t live without them. I’m also packing my Louis Vuitton bag and my latest velvet boots. I bought those after seeing Angelina Jolie rock them—she looked so gorgeous, and I couldn’t resist!
